project diva guides !!

Since I believe I am good enough at this game to help others, here I am. Making Project Diva guides X3

This is my first time making a guide, so please excuse any awkward wording! Also, I may not have the most efficient methods! Share with me your methods if you think they're better!!

Only for Diva, no Sekai! I don't play it anymore! And I suck at piano rhythm games >_<

My personal skill level is 10 on Ex-Extreme-- but as in I can beat World's End Dancehall and Ura Omote Lovers, but am still learning Intense Voice.

Also! This is advice for controllers, as I don't play with a keyboard. Many of these tips still apply, though!

General Advice

D-Pad Usage

My first word of advice ... USE BOTH OF YOUR HANDS! This is very important for becoming good at the game. I did not do this at first and had to teach myself later on. Use the D-Pad!!! It is SO useful for long lines of notes, fast notes, and can prevent your dominant hand from cramping.

Bumpers and Triggers

Project Diva gives you the ability to replace your bumpers and triggers with basic notes or multi-notes instead of slides. This is what I and a lot of advanced players do.

I have my left trigger set to X, my right trigger set to Triangle, my left bumper set to square, and my right bumper set to Quad/All 4.

Sadly, MM+ has taken away the ability to have more than two inputs for one note (AKA you can only have D-Pad and buttons), which sucks... I got around this by changing my steam controller layout.

Click "View Controller Settings"

Click "Edit Layout"

These are how mine are set up.

I suggest you change them to D-Pad buttons (if you use your right hand more). If you're like me and hold notes for longer than needed, it'll not process the button press if its the same button in the controller layout... I hope that makes sense aah

Pattern Reading

I'll go over the most common patterns, how I (personally) read them, and good ways to practice.

Triplet

This pattern will go like this. Just alternate between D-Pad and buttons.

Good places to practice these are ...

Common World Domination - Ex - 2:44

Rolling Girl - Ex-Extreme (Fast!) - tba

360

This pattern will go like this. Alternate between D-Pad and buttons.

It may also be the opposite, like this.

Do the same thing!

Good places to practice these are ...

Iya Iya Seijin - Ex - tba
